Training Day 4: An Unexpected Challenge

Training day four was frustrating. One day prior, Bennie was training on FR3 with great success. She pressed the lever 68 times and seemed to understand the task she was being asked to perform. However, near the end of her training session, she completely stopped hitting the lever. Since Bennie ceased pressing the lever, I moved her back to FR1 and tried to finish the training session on a positive note.

The next day I entered the training lab and was faced with a hard question. Did I resume Bennie on FR3 or keep her at FR1? My first desire was to start Bennie at FR3 because I wanted to continue making progress and clearly saw her achieving success at FR3 the day before. However, I thought it unwise to begin the training session on a difficult and potentially confusing task. I decided to resume training at FR1 and advance to FR2 and FR3 gradually. Thankfully, Bennie quickly recalled her prior training and flew into action once placed into the operant box.

Here is a link to Bennie rapidly pressing the lever at FR1.

Throughout her session, Bennie pressed the lever 107 times at FR1 in 18 minutes. For the last 10 minutes of training, I moved her to FR2 she unfortunately never pressed the lever.
